[WOM-Operatives] ATUSB / Ben WPAN adapter

Hi,

Some Libreboot compatible laptops like the Thinkpad X200 have 3 mPCIe
connectors inside.

In these laptops, mPCIe connectors also export USB through some of their
pins, and that adapters[1] that take advantage of that exist.

I was wondering if the Ben WPAN ATUSB adapter[2] is short enough to fit
into such USB adapters designed for full height mPCIe slots.

Did anyone test a setup like that? If so:
- Can that adapter fit into the mPCIe port?
- What is the very approximate range between such setup and an
identical adapter is plugged in a server or WiFi access point?
The figures official given for that adapter probably were probably not
obtained by putting the device inside a laptop case.
- Is there a way to solder a connector and connect an antenna to that
connector? Which antenna are good to use with IEEE802.15.4 for
  laptops? and for access points?
- Does someone knows if there is some risk of interferences with WiFi
or if there is a way to do antenna diversity in case of an access
point with both WiFi and IEEE802.15.4?
- Are there any plastic cases that would work for such hardware?
Or are there other ways to protect the device from the rain (heat
  shrink tubes?) ?
